Just back from a fabulous 4 days (& nights) on Skokholm Island.  It was meant to be 3 days & nights, but the weather turned so the boat was delayed by 24 hours.  I wasn’t disappointed!  To have such an amazing island to share with just 9 other people is a real privilege, even if the weather waxed and waned, and the Puffins came and went…  Best migrant birds included 2 Ring Ouzels, and at least 2 Grasshopper Warblers caught by ringers working the traps of the newly re-established Bird Observatory (skokholm.blogspot.co.uk).  A female Merlin graced the island, keeping the resident Peregrines on their toes.  The company was fantastic (including my own daughter, Emily) and it really was a wrench to leave this morning.  I will be back soon.  Gallery to be added in a few days….
