Two trips to Newgale today, highlights were 3 Kumlien’s Gulls (adult & 2 2CY), an Iceland Gull (3CY, quite dusky primaries but pattern looked wrong for Kumlien’s), at least 3 Glaucous Gulls (all 2CY, 2 pale birds), Yellow-legged Gull (adult), the drake Green-winged Teal and the Great Skua showing very well on the beach opposite Bathesland car park at the south end (VERY well…the photos below have not been cropped!).  Enjoyed the company of Ian MacKay during my second visit, we had a large dark heron on the beach south of Maidenhall Point late afternoon which piqued the interest but turned out to be a 2CY Grey Heron….one day!

Noticed 3 dead Razorbills and 1 dead Guillemot at Newgale today, none of which were predated.
